I’ve been taking my car to Craftsman Auto Care in Merrifield for a while now and I always appreciate the work they do. Brennan is super helpful and takes the time to explain how things work so you actually understand what’s going on. I appreciate that they do digital inspections with pictures at every visit, so you can see exactly what they're looking at. Pete is always straightforward and honest about what actually needs to get done right away versus what can wait. Both of them really have the customer's best interests in mind instead of just pushing unnecessary upsells. The entire staff at Craftsman is great! Great service, clear communication, and top-tier work all around!

I exclusively service my car at Craftsman Merrifield. Frank and the team are very thorough and transparent about maintenance needs and costs. I appreciate that they prioritize necessary repairs and help me plan and schedule what we’ll need to replace/update across future visits. Car maintenance as we all know is expensive and it’s great to have a team that helps you plan ahead rather than just throwing out a long list of things to charge you for. If you want to preserve the utility and value of your car, this is the team to work with.

This was my first time going outside of any dealership for car service. I was very nervous to do so. I read reviews on local companies, this company, and the Merrifield location of Craftsman specifically. I said if I’m gonna take a chance, I’m gonna take a chance with Craftsman auto. Well, I should’ve played the lottery because I hit big-time and finding Craftsman’s auto. Their parking lot was full in the morning, which gave me great confidence that many people trusted their car to this company. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted with a cheerful smile and a warm welcome. I believe the workers’ name was Pete. He explained that they were going to give pictures and updates, but for the first time ever I got communication about my car in a language that a lay person can understand! The pictures walked me through the evaluation like a storybook. They took me to work and picked me up in the afternoon . Their transportation service covers 5 miles from the office. Even my drivers were very nice! I called in, they told me the amount for the service, I verbally approved and by 5 o’clock my car was ready. Pete check me out, again so cheerful… The car is running great.

Scheduled a brake fluid replacement and bleed. They reported one brake line was twisted. Quoted 30 minutes to remove the caliper, unwind the brake line and reinstall caliper. Probably should have been a 15 minute job but I wasn’t going to quibble. Comprehensive inspection report. Didn’t try to upsell for early or unnecessary repairs. Advisor even added in the records when certain services were previously done by the dealer but were not explicitly captured in the Carfax maintenance records. Location is clean. Staff is courteous. You could tell the advisor was fairly junior when I requested the fluid level be matched to the level I came in with as opposed to filled to max because the front brakes were partially worn. This would prevent the fluid from spilling over when the calipers are compressed when the pads are eventually replaced. A more senior staff member overheard and knew what I was talking about. Price for the job and the unexpected add-on was not the cheapest but certainly reasonable. Would recommend.

I am new to the area but I have lived all around our country and in my 40+ years of owning cars and getting them worked on, the folks at Craftsman Merrifield are some of the best. They run the shop like an old school neighborhood auto shop. I had an unexpected starting issue in my Jeep last Friday. After a 3 hr wait for a tow truck they stayed open several minutes past closing on a FRIDAY and accepted my Jeep. They even offered my wife and I coffee, water, and snacks when we got there. The next day they called around 9 in the morning to give me an update. They fully explained the issue, and although more expensive than I expected, their explanation was logical. They completed all the work and found a way to give me a slight discount on the full cost. When I picked up my Jeep that afternoon, the team answered all of my additional questions concerning the issue and provided me other options to ensure the problem did not happen again. They did not push any additional services. They were honest and fair. Needless to say, the 5+ yr old 100K+ mile Jeep is running like a Jeep half its age (50K). This is my first time living in Northern VA an I am fully impressed with the neigh
